Last week superstar Lionel Messi announced his own wine label, now Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore has followed suit adding herself to a long list of celebrity endorsed wines which includes the likes of Antonio Banderas, Dan Aykroyd and Francis Ford Coppola.
The wine, Barrymore Pinot Grigio, is white and made from grapes grown in northern Italy and is said to be dry and fruity.
Speaking about her new wine venture, Drew Barrymore said: “Wine is all about the journey, the discovery of new places and new varieties.
“I’m excited about sharing this Pinot Grigio with my friends and family and other wine lovers.”
The label for Barrymore Pinot Grigio was designed by street artist, Shepard Fairey, who famously created the Barack Obama ‘Hope’ poster, and features the Barrymore family crest.
Barrymore Pinot Grigio is said to be ‘fresh and fun,’ containing flavours of fresh apricot and citrus. 2,000 cases will be available in the US retailing at around $19.99 a bottle. It is available exclusively through Wilson Daniels.
