Skyy vodka is set to wow customers this Christmas with a brand new concept – a velvet coated bottle.
Ok, so, it probably isn’t velvet, but the textured flocked frilly pattern will certainly stand out on shelves at a time when most spirits, particularly vodka’s, will be developing new packaging and promotions to make their drink stand out and become more giftable during the festive season.
In the past, one particular brand that has done this rather well is one of Skyy vodka’s direct competitors – Absolut vodka – which has a habit of designing limited edition jackets for its Christmas bottles – a feature that has made the brand a rather collectable and sought-after item during this period.
More than just pure aesthetic appeal, the Skyy vodka blue velvet bottles are actually a limited edition charity bottle and a percentage of profits from the sale of these bottles will be donated to amfAR, an organisation set up to help fight the spread of AIDS.
