On Friday the 25th of January, Scots across the world will raise a glass and celebrate Burns Night, a night to remember the works of the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns.
A long celebrated tradition, Burns Night brings together family and friends to share great food and fantastic drinks – the more Scottish the better, which means whisky, single malt for preference.
If you’re having a gathering yourself, there’s no better way to enjoy teh party than with Robert Burns single malt whisky, and its best served in this brand new creation from the Isle of Arran Distillery – the Burnito cocktail.
S[peaking about the drink, Euan Mitchell, Managing Director at Isle of Arran Distillers gives it his personal endorsement and explains how to make one: “If you’re looking for the perfect Burns Night cocktail, the Burnito has it all. To make this delicious drink put the whisky, lime and sugar into a cocktail shaker and shake well until the ingredients are mixed. Next fill a tall glass with ice and strain in the liquid. Top up with ginger beer and garnish with a wedge of lime and a fresh mint sprig.
“Some people are dubious about using single malt in a cocktail, but the Burns Malt is the perfect pairing with these ingredients to create a luxurious cocktail to toast Burns’ memory.”
