In a recent survey, Starbucks US discovered that its customers wanted to relax more so to aid their mood and cater to this demand Starbucks is trialling alcoholic drink sales in a select group of outlets in Atlanta, Chicago and Southern California.
Not only will Starbucks be offering its customers a choice of wine and beer, a variety of ‘premium snacks’ will also be on offer, which is said to include a variety of flatbreads and other savoury snacks.
Clarice Turner, senior vice president of U.S. Operations said: “Building an evening day-part is a natural progression for us as we are always looking for ways to evolve and enhance theStarbucks Experience based on what our customers are telling us. We’re pleased with the response of our customers to the introduction of wine, beer and premium food at several of our stores in the Pacific Northwest, and we’re excited to see how the idea translates to other markets.”
The trial will continue throughout 2012 in order to evaluate its success.
