Yorkshire Tea has signed a long term deal with the England and Wales Cricket Board, making it the Official Brew of English Cricket until October 2015.
The Yorkshire Tea brand, one of England’s most famous Tea companies, has been working hard to promote its name in the last year or so and has continually released viral videos of its exploits, the most memorable being its journey across America which was featured in a number of television adverts.
This campaign has been followed by other videos looking at where Yorkshire Tea comes from and looking at things typically Yorkshire, where the tea takes its name.
Cricket is a sport with deep roots in Yorkshire and being a typically English game, and tea a typically English drink, the two go together in perfect harmony – giving Yorkshire Tea prominence at test matches where ‘Yorkshire Tea breaks‘ are scheduled to take place as part of the sponsorship deal.
Speaking about the link up between Yorkshire Tea and the England and Wales Cricket Board, Simon Eyles, Marketing Director of Yorkshire Tea, said: “This is the first national sponsorship Yorkshire Tea has embarked upon, and we’re really looking forward to being part of such an exciting summer of cricket.
“The cricket tea break is synonymous with a proper brew, so throughout the summer we are going to make every tea break fun and engaging for the many fans of the game.”
