Diet Coke has unveiled its latest Diet Coke man, to a rapturous reception across mainstream media. The stunt helps the brand celebrate its 30th birthday in the UK and sees the role revived by a gardener who’s break coincides with that of a bunch of lust-filled ladies.
Launched via Facebook on Monday at 11:30am precisely (the average office workers own Diet Coke break), the ad followed a 30 second teaser which had previously been made available and featured the famous Etta James song, “I Just Want to Make Love to You,” a tune very familiar to all of those Diet Coke break fans.
Followers of Diet Coke will be pleased to know that the 30th celebrations do not end with this video and as Jean Paul Gaultier is a driving force behind the brand these days don’t be shocked if there are a number of fashion and design-led promotions throughout the year.
In the US, Diet Coke celebrated its 30th birthday with a series of 30 second parties which could be won by fans who took part in a twitter competition.
