Volvic mineral water is attempting to involve fans more in the brand’s promotion by using social media to recruit its ‘Team Volcanicity.’
The promotion aims to encourage people to demonstrate their own ideas of what Volcanicity is to them and express it via photography which will then be shared on the Volvic Facebook page.
Like almost all social competitions, fans will then judge for themselves who will be the winner by liking the entries. The one that gets the most likes will win.
To get things going, a hand-picked panel of judges will each submit their own ideas of what they feel their own volcanicity is.
Speaking about the promotion, Jon Marchant, Brand Manager for Volvic, said of the brand’s Facebook fans: “They live life to the full, embrace nature and have a real sense of adventure – so we are really excited to give them the chance to represent the brand.
“This is the first time we’ve reached out to our fans in this way and we can’t wait to see what explosive ideas they are going to come up with!”
Social media promotion continues to be a major part of brands marketing thinking, with successful campaigns often rolling into mainstream media thanks to their innovation. Volvic knows that with this kind of thinking not only are they getting closer to their customers, they are also finding out directly about consumer thinking and potentially crowd-sourcing ideas for future promotional campaigns.
